Congratulations on your impemding purchase. I would recommend a 'click' type over a beam(a) they are far more accurate; and (b) you may not always be in a position to view a beam type. Unfortunately, you must pay for quality in this particular area, my opinion, and I would further recommend a new one, as it has been calibrated prior to sale; a used one will be of dubious reliability, these are precision instruments, you don't know its past history of a used one.
Also, pay now for accuracy, or pay later when your cheapo model overtorques a bolt and sheers off the head, or strips the threads in the hole, what's that gonna cost ya? "Pro" models will cost upwards of $200-300, $70 for a shadetree mechanic does not seem like much, compared.
Recommended brands include craftsman, snapon, s-k tools, the usual suspects.
