Life is a game of backwards..... Posted by Mike Lynch [Email] (#81) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Mike Lynch) on Tue, 27 May 2003 10:10:28 In Reply to: The Montana paradox, Stefano, Tue, 27 May 2003 08:44:58 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
The salesperson who needs to sell something can't, people who say they are buying today aren't, ask a busy person to do something, light colored cars stay cleaner, do a lot of exercise to have energy, married men are more attractive to women, use the start icon to stop your computer, push the right handlebar to turn right, people will do exactly the opposite of what you advise them to, opposites attract, most successful people have failed miserably at one time, and so on.
More often than not things can be counter-intuitive. In the car business for example, someone who has just spent money on his old car is ready to trade. If they haven't spent any money on their old car lately why trade it? Often a sale is made by thoroughly understanding and explaining why something shouldn't or can't be done. I could go on and on. Wisdom comes from knowing when this phenomena is occuring.
