MAP (Marathon Ashland Petroleum) is one of the retail brands having the potential for greater particulate pass-through. Their retail filtration standards are far more lax (at least in execution) than their "major" competitors (Shell, Chevron, Exxon, BP/Amoco). As an example, many of their Florida stations have either 30 micron dispenser filters (majors spec 10 micron) or no filtration at all.
