Can someone explain how Saab is going to hang on?

OK...just thinking:
So the next 9-5 isn't due until 2007. How does Saab plan to remain competitive in that segment when strong product is coming out from the other manufacturers? Isn't this the same old Saab story where they simply hand on to a model way too long?
BMW has the new 5 Series, Acura has the new TL (and this thing looks like it is going to be off the charts!), Mercedes has the new E-Class, and the lower priced competitors such as Honda, Subaru and Nissan have come (or are coming out with) extremely competitive offerings. Plus, I'm sure the next generation Camry will be another huge leap forward.
There is too much good stuff coming out too quickly for Saab to maintain a basically unchanged model for 8 years. Any opinions on the long term prospects for this strategy?
