argh, first scratches on the new Aero

Yup, my beautiful 3.5 week old Cosmic Blue Aero got it's first scratches yesterday. My fiance was getting ready to move the car out of the driveway so I could get my motorcycle into the garage. Imagine my horror as I saw her put a shoebox on the roof, open the rear door, then slide the box off the top and put it in the back seat. I knew when I saw her slide it on the dry, somewhat dirty roof, that it wasn't going to be pretty.
Sure enough when I took a look at it, there's a pretty good number of fine scratches in the finish. Looks like it's just in the clear coat, no gouges or anything.
So my question is, what should I do to repair or at the least conceal them? I'm really not interested in any 8 step, car-show quality cleaning "systems". I normally wash and wax the car using some Meguiars' type stuff. Will a careful wax job fill in the scratches? Will I need to do a light polish on that area (never done that before)? Thanks for any help,
jeff
