I put a *big* gouge in the paint on the roof of my volvo when I was cleaning snow off it with a snow shovel (it was the blizzard last Feb., there was 27" snow on the car, and the brush just wasn't gonna do the trick). Then later that same day I managed to lock myself in the basement--while home alone--and had to destroy the door with some power tools in order to get out. Imagine how fun it was to phone my husband and report that I'd wrecked the basement door AND the car.
We ordered a paint touch-up pen from the Volvo dealer, but never picked it up because, well, we're slackers. But he's been good about waxing the spot that I scratched, and so far there is no rust.
Just wanted to share my experience, now that I can laugh at myself about it.
