I've driven both the TL and TSX, and, of course, the various Saabs out. To me the the Acuras were much better than they were in the mid 90s. But ultimately the main difference between the new Acuras and the new Saabs is the looks of the car. The Acuras are very 'in the moment', and good at it, too. If I was to lease a car for under 36 months the Acura TL would be pretty hard to beat right now for that price, though the 04' Aero is the overall better performance and handling car. If I was to buy a car to keep however or if I was majorly influenced by design then the Saab offerings are the much stronger choice. Like previous generations of BMW, Volvos and Saabs, and like more recent Audis and even VWs the Saabs epitomize good design in cars. Beyond the short term the Acuras, like their Infiniti and even their Lexus brethren, will not hold their looks. (And I'm not anti-Japanese cars or anything.)
