Turbo driven by heat? (JimBlake)

My "turbo theory" post was in reference to gorper's 11/30 post on how someone told him that a turbocharger was driven by heat, not pressure. I said in the first line of my message that this idea was, and I quote, "bogus." I was only curious as to which way the blades would spin IF this WERE the case. For instance, IF a turbine was suspended on bearings in mid-air, blades only, no housing or ducting, and one were to heat the same side of each blade, which way would it spin, toward the heat, or away from the heat? Alternatively, if a windmill were placed in a vacuum, and one were to heat the back of each of its blades and cool the front, which way would it spin? Just wondering.
