I like the idea of working WITH the buyers to decide what to do.

If I was the buyer, I'd appreciate the opportunity to choose between a cheapie fix vs. an upgrade. After all, a NEW compressor identical to the old one is really an upgrade as far as it's lifespan is concerned...

Sorta similar situation, when we bought our first house, the seller had painted all the interior walls. They used the worst, cheapest paint they could find, but the realtor probably told them they had to paint. I wish they had left the walls turquoise since it was atleast better quality paint. Instead I was stuck with lots of sanding & preperation to un-do what they had done.
