This idea of basing new models on existing platform will do nothing for brand identity. I really think an effective way for SAAB to better establish its market niche would be praising reviews in an auto mag like R&T, C&D or Motortrend. I read somewhere that praising review of the Infinity G35 did alot for the entire marque. Fortunately Ford has had a somewhat relaxed approach with Volvo and Jag. Sure some cars share the same platform, but they don't look much alike when considering the SAAB 9-3 and Saturn.
