is there rim tape on the wheel? if not, there are a lot of sharp edges on the inside of the wheel where the spokes meet. without protective tape, you will continue to cause flats. i believe it is a buck or two at a bike shop. new wheels do not always come with it.
if that's not the case, i'd say you are either missing a nail or piece of glass embedded in the tire somewhere. or, you are damaging the tube when you are swapping the new ones in.
also, if you had to walk 4 miles with the flat, it sounds like a slow leak. make sure to carry some co2 cartridges for quick repressure.
another thought is you have really cheap tires that are not protecting the tube well. i use continental ultra gators on my road bike. they are slightly heavier, but they are built to protect against flats. i was impressed the 1st time i did not notice the sea of broken glass only to find out i did not get a flat. ever since then, i have been a supporter of these tires. it's been about 4 years and i have yet to get a flat with these tires.
