...any sludge in the system will be dissolved, the re-released along the entire fuel pathway, clogging stuff up. This is a known issue. Cure is purging the entire system, or removing and cleaning with carb cleaner. Fuel pumps not meant for ethanol also rust. Finally, any aluminum parts are subject to increased corrosive activity. Supposedly vehicles post 1998 are set up to accept 15% EtOH, so they are more resistant to corrosion. E85 cars are supposedly totally safe.
