GM shuffles Buick, Saab management
Jamie LaReau
DETROIT -- General Motors told dealers this morning that, effective immediately, it is making top management changes at its Buick and Saab brands.
Buick General Manager Steve Shannon will run GM's Saab brand in North America. Shannon replaces Jay Spenchian. Shannon will report to Mike Jackson, vice president for marketing and advertising.
Spenchian, who took over running Saab about two years ago, will assume a newly created position as executive director of strategy and revenue management for GM's vehicle sales, service and marketing organization. Spenchian will report to Mark LaNeve, vice president of vehicle sales, service and marketing.
John Larson, head of Buick-Pontiac-GMC, will take over Shannon's Buick duties. Katherine Benoit has been appointed executive director, Buick-Pontiac-GMC, reporting to Larson. Benoit previously was executive director, order fulfillment. Her replacement will be named later.
