Unfortunately, Buick's clientele, on average, is among the oldest, if not the oldest in all of autodom. When your market is literally dying off, there is not much you can do, except to try to appeal to a younger market. So it's not just Buick that is struggling to stay alive.
But Buick doesn't have a product mix that allows this. And, it's very hard to change your image when you've worked so long at establishing it. Yes, Tiger Woods is a young, athletic guy, but do you really think he prefers driving a Buick to a Ferrari or Porsche? Come on!
Every time I approach a Buick I'm alawys on "blue hair" (life insurance industry word) alert.
