Speaking from experience...the Norway in a Nutshell is a fantastic way to see the country on limited time. Just be sure you make sure you get on the right bus leaving Bergen. We had a feeling about half way into the ride we were told to get on the wrong bus but it was too late then. The bus driver drops us off on the side of the road in what appears to be the middle of nowhere. We walk about a mile and find the boat dock but we were there in the offseason so the boat only ran once a day! Ended up walking to a distant gas station and luckily finding a cab driver willing to take us where we were to pick up the train.

We flew to Stockholm to begin our trip, rented a car and drove a good portion of southern Sweden, Denmark and as far as Oslo in Norway. We had an agent book bed and breakfast's for us along the way each night and they gave us suggested routes but we pretty much went our own way. As long as we made it to our accommodations each evening we were good.

That trip was unfortunately almost 10 years ago now so particular places outside of exploring the big cities escape me. Except of course the SAAB museum...make sure that is on the schedule.
