And there was no rust inside where the filter is, BUT there was rust near a rubber piece close to the top. Since the oil is in contact with that area, and since the rust was on my finger upon touching it, I don't want to use them. The car WILL be "fine" but, why use them? Those particles will clearly go into the engine, contaminate the oil even if EVER so slightly.
Perhaps some of the less worse ones can be used on a beater, but not my Viggen. A mechanic would probably use them.
I'm keeping three really clean ones, and will use them one day if I have a winter car.
It's too bad. They were the ORIGINAL blue SAAB filters.
