With durable cars like Saabs there's a lot to be said for paying a bit more for a good one, *assuming* you plan to keep it a long time. Then you get the value out of the investment. You need to hang onto it because that extra value is probably only there for someone who knows what they're getting, maybe especially with a Saab.
However, if you don't plan to hold onto the car the added cost for a low mileage model is just money out you won't get back.
I don't especially like the OG 9-3 cars, preferring the 9000 and 9-5, but that great hatch is their saving grace. That makes them appealing to a lot of Saab guys--who will pay a bit more for that.
