I sent my daughter to pick up two transponders for my '06 9-3 vert. the rubber typically deteriorates in 24-30 months on the remote key/transponder. Left her $100 to cover the cost of two transponders. came home she gave me 2 new transponders and the $100. Parts dept didn't even charge her. I popped open the transponder and switched old transponder and the new transponder battery into new transponder case and voila new remotes and keys that work like a charm. Put the unprogrammed transponders units in a baggie in the event I need them in the future. was quite pleased, asked her why they didn't cahrge her she said cause she's good looking. Guess there have been too many complaints about the poor build quality on the rubber parts of the remote transponder keys. I also reuse the old door and glove box cut key blank in the new transponder. This is my third set since purchasing the car need, first two sets were covered under warranty.
guess it speaks to good customer service.
