WE are the ones searching for the lowest cost on ebay and Amazon. WE are the ones driving producers to manufacture in lower overhead regions. WE are the problem.
Supply chain cost reduction demands necessitate that component manufacturers produce more locally to the end user. If you want to believe that the quality of some item from Bosch Shenzhen is on par with the 'same' item from Bosch Switzerland, well......
Country of manufacture IS listed. but WE have to be aware that "from an OEM" doesn't mean from the original OEM. Someone making a widget for some domestic off-shore market can technically claim to be an "OEM supplier", and foist off some other cheap, and also inexpensive, junk that WE buy because we want to believe it is a real item.
That's why I like Saab: The Swedes can really build a car much better than Alfa, Subaru, Isuzu, Opel, Cadillac,.....
