I do agree that namesake is meaningless...you bust your balls and it doesnt matter what school you went to. My dad was dirt poor, valedictorian captian of three varsity teams. 1500SAT. Could have gone anywhere to school. He chose Ball State University(Muncie IN). Small class sizes and no TA's in the Business College. Now he is VP and Controler of Cooper Standard Automotive(in detroit). I dont think the name of the college should play ANY role in your decisions...its merely bragging rights! I looked at New York Univ., Butler Univ., and Ball State. I chose BSU and i am dang proud.

As for affirmative action---i think it is a crock of horse dung!! Why should someone less qualifed receive a job just because he/she is a woman or a minority. I am not saying that minorities or women should be screwed over....but we live in a capitialistic market! Competition is a necessity. If you cant "ball" dont come to the court! The job goes to the BEST and MOST Qualified. Why would you choose to be complacent and allow an unqualified person an unmerited position?? There are oppurtunity costs and reprucussions that come because of this. I am done..sorry affirmative action is my weak point...i agree with welfare but affirmative action hits the "hot spot"!

Dont take it the wrong way(i can feel the heat coming though...never battle chrisx)
