I bought a dell (novell ICS) caching proxy server from them. Several
months after it came out, a newer version of the software on it came out.
Novell said to contact Dell. Dell couldn't do anything but sell us a whole new box. I wasn't interested. They wouldn't sell us upgrade CDs or offer a tradein or anything. They didn't support me much for a $4000 purchase. I think dell hardware is fine for the most part, but being the big fast growth company they are, support details are unlikely to be as fine tuned as we'd like. I probably won't order another dell. Most of my computers, we build ourselves.
For consumer stuff, Dell is MUCH better than HP/Compaq! HP/Compaq is selling the junk for the market that packard bell used to have.
