Yeah, try grounding to the exact same point. Also, is that ground screw tight? whatever metal I used under the seat was because it was thick and I knew a sheetmetal screw would bite in and not shake loose. i also didn't want to go into the body because I live in the rust belt. 2 years from now I'd have a nice vent under the back seat. :)
I just did a search on C900 for "capacitor" and I guess there are 2 key capacitors. 1 at the alternator is for radio noise supression. I've never seen it, but I've never looked for it, either. Have a read over there if the ground thing doesn't solve it for you.
