and it was great to meet you and Royce for the first time.

Judging for the concourse is based on did that car have the right parts on it like it was brand new off the assembly line. All OEM, no upgrades. I had plenty of them such as the newer style door panels and carpeting for the trunk. 73 EMS's had cardboard backed interior panels and a gray mat for the trunk...blech. Power mirrors also did not come on a 73. They got me on the brass oveflow bottle which came from an older 99. Personally, the black plastic stock ones were worthless and always cracked and leaked.

As far as the rare comment goes, you are 100% right. It was the only 99 at the show with that engine and fuel injection set-up.


I did have a conversation with Larry West who was in charge of the concourse judging. Having the peoples choice for the concourse could happen next year. And he said that who ever wins won't be allowed to enter it again in any of the following years. Bring something else next year he said. He personally gave up 2 days of his convention to stand in the hot sun and judge cars. I have to give a hand of applause to all the judges who donated their time as well.

I'm calming down a little right now. We'll see what happens next year.
