I just did 2 days in a Hyundai Sonata

which is one level up, I think, from the Kia. Both come from Hyundai, IIRC.
The Sonata with the 4 cyl is underpowered, but is actually a decent car for what it's meant to be. I cruises quietly at 80, although the ride is too soft and the seat bottoms are too short. Fit an finish is fine.
I got about 20 mpg in a mix of highway and local streets in South Florida. If the car had more poke it probably would have been better, but I drove it fairly hard to keep up with traffic.
I hadn't driven a Hyundai since I ran their customer sat program 20 years ago. They have come a long way and I'd sure consider one if all I needed was a transportation appliance. I'd like to try the V6 version, but I suspect it would need some suspension work to be a "real" car.
FWIW, Hyundai is coming out with a V8 rear driver in a year or so. That could be real interesting!
