As opposed to the 911's with their rearward weight bias and drop throttle oversteer, the 924/944 series had their gearbox and engine at opposite ends of the car making rotating the car much more difficult as the ends were weighted. Sorta' like trying to spin a dumbbell with the weights on either end vs putting the weights together or on one end.
All and all a much more balanced and forgiving handling chassis. Much easier to drive at the limit.
On the other hand there's nothing like the flat six in the 911......
