That sounds like an interesting idea. I know SAS has been selling different pads to add height in the rear. And there are many different pad thicknesses available for other applications.
If in your quest for thinner pads you happen to encounter one that will ADD 10-15 mm to the front struts on a 9kt, my H&R/Bilstein HD combination is tooo low. I bottom out on modest bumps making the whole interior shake. I am almost ready to go back to stock aero springs or slightly cut ones. Any specific suggestions?
