I live in ca and can only get 91 octane which makes huge dif when it come to boost. In MHO there is no f-ing way a 900 will sustain 20 psi with the stock IC. With a stage 2 apc, yes it will hit 20, but will fall like a rock after a second. Add a fan to the back and this will only help a tad. Add a talon with a fan and this helps much, but nothing like a FMIC.
I have a talon ic with a whole bunch of goodies installed like 30 lb inj, msd btm, yada.... I use to run water as well, but dumped it when I went to a bigger turbo. My car now has the same power at 15 psi as it did with the older turbo with water at 18 psi.
Yes, it runs leaner and it is a must to install a bigger fpr along with bigger inj and a gip from jak.
A bigger IC without any other mods so to speak will allow you to raise the boost via turning the pots on a stock apc, but without fuel you will be in trouble. also, the stock apc is not up to the task.
