Well, I've got a long way to go to get this thing where I want it, and it will be a full time job trying keep this thing in one piece. I really don't care if I blow something up; when I got this car I planned it to be a project on the side. As far as the timing goes, I unplugged the vacuum advance (motor must be warm), got a timing light, and took it from stock (16 degrees BTDC) and advanced it 2 degrees by BARELY turning the distributor clockwise (the motor will jump up by only about 50 RPM). Don't go too far, as knocking will become a problem and it'll fall on it's face above 4500 RPM. Unfortunately, the highest octane around here is 91, but there is a place across town that sells 93 and race fuel (101-108 octane). The motor mods are going to be somewhat extensive: I plan to install the large 9K frontmount intercooler (the joy of charge pipe fabrication!), an MSS exhaust, revamp the fuel/ignition system (don't want to give away exactly what I install though...), HD 9K clutch, 2.1 head, intake, and throttle body, and various other do-dads. I'll run the stock T-25 for now, but down the road that might change. I'm lost as to how I can keep the trans together though, so I'll just have to refrain from dumping the clutch.
