Down-pipes if done properly are a noticeable improvement as we all know especially if you have the room to come straight out of the turbo a little ways and then a large radius bend. In a perfect world you would come out of the turbo at a 7 degree included angle with a 4" radius! As far as a custom made header most don't realize just how much better turbo spool-up actually is. I like your idea for a 9000 to move the turbo further to the driver's side for a less restrictive down-pipe. I've thought about doing this for C-900's as well to mount the turbo 9000 style like it should have been in the first place! In a C-900 application the turbo would be moved forward so the motor mount brace would clear. It would be great if the same header could be used for both custom applications probably with a T-3 flange and use either a GT series Garrett or my favorite SS Mitsubishi T-3 flanged turbo. If you go this down-pipe rout I can send you all of the sources and part number I use. Keep these good ideas coming, Dave
