D'OH! Their set-up was designed for HO Naturally Aspirated engines with cold air intakes. They said they would not warranty the product on a turbocharged car, and he said the boost would blow up the valve.
Honestly, I am not worried about water intake the way I have it set up, with the filter being mainly open in the first place as it is now. Others have not had problems (so far), so I'll keep my fingers crossed. Hydrolock sucks a big one, though.
I do not do much driving in the rain, anyway. My tires are NOT capable of driving in the snow, either, so no worries there. The way it is set up, water would have to flood the filter and make a right turn into the intake to get into the engine. I would have to sit in a big puddle for that much water to even get close to the filter. Rain water (drops) might get broken up while driving to form a mist, thus giving me "sort-of" water injection! yeah, right!
If I do end up with H-lock, I'll post it right away here on the board. Like I said, I have the benefit of spare engines lying around, so it's no big deal to try it out.
Mike, with fingers and toes crossed.
