Jim Miller was worried about suction, since in the picture it *appears* that the tube is *one* with the filter. This it not so. The filter rests on top of the hose, thus making the worry about water intrusion (in my perspective) warranted only in some sort of Biblical flood; at which point an SPG would be useless. :(
HOWEVER: I did just order a very cool filter today; a K&N with a reverse conical filter inside of the open element filter, allowing me to feed the tube directly into the filter. NOW water becomes an issue, since the suction factor will be present. The filter element will still be mainly an open one, since the tube will now feed directly into the end opposite of the AMM, while the rest of the element is like the one I have on there now (except it is conical, too).
I think I'll still get the AEM unit, since with the recall came a fix, for free. It would suck for them not to warranty it for me, though. Still trying to figure out why it can't withstand boost suction.
Mike
