Re: Anyone running GT3071r with 'compact' compressor Posted by John Williams [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Re: Anyone running GT3071r with 'compact' compressor, aerokid37, Sat, 8 Dec 2007 08:53:35 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Then why worry about using a compact housing? I was wondering if using the spacer on my 9k aero would be the way to go to make sure the actuator will clear the balance shaft area of the block and to move the exhaust flange away from the block a little more so a full 3" dp could be fabricated to clear that coolant banjo flange that seems to be in the way of the dp on the exhaust side. I was thinking that is why they have to go with 2.5" piping on the last bit of the 3" dp, like from JT.
If the exhaust manifold was spaced out about 1/2" from the head with a spacer from Nick, you could probably get the dp and compressor housing and actuator on the back side to all fit much more easily.
That is what I want to try first when I mount my larger gt3076wg with 4" compressor inlet.
