As I understood it, the NG900 Long Run only went to 50,000 km (or was it 25,000 km?), whereas the 9000s went to 100,000km. Thus, one of the world records was time to reach 100,000 km. That particular record, I recall, applied to cars of ALL categories, not just production cars.
So how far did the Subarus go, and what was the average speed? (132.5 mph for the '86 9000T) Don't think the Legacy Turbos were ever brought to the US though, were they? Not that it means much nowadays, given the vast disparity between what the rest of the world wants/needs and what the US wants (read: trucks and SUVs), but the argument could still be made thatthe Saabs were the record holders among cars available in the US market.
Curious to hear about the Subarus, though, got a link?
