measure due to delay's in releasing the Viggen. I wanted a Viggen (wasn't called that then, but the prototype pics were out in the Saab Soundings mag) but could not wait. In the mean time Saab did another long-run with factory fresh Saab NG900's of all types -- NA I-4's, turbo's and even V-6's -- and ran them for about a week at the Talladega Super Speedway. The previous record holder for duration and speed was ten years prior in the Saab 9000. The NG900 set some 40+ records for average speed, duration and endurance.
The "Talladega" is a commemorative edition 900 but is really trim, not performance (that I did myself...;-). Includes following:
Sport Springs (I question this as it really doesn't look any lower, or feel any different to me than any other NG900 that I've ridden in)
Silver, Black, or Cayanne Red paint,
Chrome inside door handles
Leather door inserts rather than velour
Black-out lower dash facia
optional woodgrain dash (I have it..)
Body painted upper bumper skins
Front chin spoiler, body color
Oversized rear spoiler, body color
replaced chrome bumper trim with black trim
16" SuperAero wheels with Micheline Pilot MMX-3 205/50-16
"Talladega" logo on the rear facia, replacing the "2.0 Turbo" logo
All engine tuning and exhaust is virtually the same as the standard 2.0 Turbo NG900.
The really cool thing was that for all the pieces/parts in this package, you could get for $500.
The other stuff (see my previous posting) gets me to a near Viggen or better performance levels...
Jim M.
