I have both the 2.3 intake from a '91? and 2.0 intake from an '86 9000T. The runners on the 2.3 are about half the length of those on the 2.0. I've read and talked to a couple people who say that the shorter runners give more power in the upper rpm band, longer runners will give more bottom end.
The 3 bolts for the throtlebody are the same so they should interchange. Same goes for the bolt pattern between the intake and head.
The 2.0 has three sensors threaded into it (knock, temp, and ?) while the 2.3 has only 1 sensor. It may be possible for machine shop the cut holes and threads for the other 2.
The fuel rail (and injectors) are located under the 2.0 intake, the rail is mounts on top of the 2.3 intake.
The openings on the 2.0 intake are 38mm x 29mm. The 2.3 intake are 42mm x 30mm. I just ran out to the garage and measured them.
Hope this helps.
