First of all, take a joke.

Second of all, it is all too typical for these types of cars to be portrayed as something they are not. Type Rs when they are stock; Vtecs when they are not; coffee can muffler tips with an otherwise stock set up. What is the point? To make OTHER people think you have something you don't. To me, that is just like lying. I respect cars and I think I have a good idea as to what great cars are. These loads are just trying to portray an image; trying to make a not-very-special car seem like it is the shiznit.

Basically, what it comes down to is a disrespect for the world of speed.

1) extra weight, unless absolutely necessary, slows you down.

They want fast cars, yet loads their rides down with super heavy and useless wings.


2) obnoxious stickers, especially for items not on the car, is just flat out stupid. They know they are doing it, and all they want is OTHER people to think they have something they don't.


3) 9 times out of 10, people driving these cars drive like maniacs, terrorizing other drivers on the road. Two days ago, my brother told me about an Integra that passed a whole pack of cars (16+ cars, spread over 3 lanes wide) by going through the left turn lane at a light at full speed. There's too much traffic on roads these days to drive like that. It just pisses me off everytime I see it.


4) These damn mufflers. They know it makes an annoying whinning sound, unlike almost any truly fast car on the road. They love it, and seek it out for their usually otherwise stock loads of crap.

People are free to do what they want. I have my own preferences for what I want my own car to look like, and for what kind of car I will respect. I cannot respect a person or the car that they present as something it is not. To me, blatant stupidity commands no respect.
