1: They stealthy looking
2: They are fast, and if you modify them, they can be extremly fast.
3: They are somewhat rare (how many do you see in a day?) :0
4: They are the "ultimate" saab 900, so if your a 900 lover, this car is tops.
5: They are turbocharged, lowered, handle great, and are "loaded".
6: They last for a long time (like all SAAB's)
7: They turn heads.
I have an '85 SPG that I love dearly, lowered, extra large whale tail, K&N filter, a whole bunch of little goodies. I am buying a 1989 SPG in a few days, edwardian grey, has rear louver &extra large side vent covers. I love SAAB's period (I also have an '87 900), but the SPG is my Fav.
Would I trade your car for a '90 SPG plus $4K? Depends, if the SPG has "lower" miles (under 180K), and looks/runs great, then...yes I would do it, I'm just an SPG nut. You wanna know what I would actually do? Get the SPG and use some of the 4,000 on mods, lower it, put some '16 aeros on it, get a SPG9 stage 2 APC &Turbo, get the glass tinted, get a RRFPR, K&N inlet kit, that kind of stuff. You could make that car seriously MEAN, it's mean as it is, but with those mods, seriously, anyone with any car will be hard pressed to catch you....
The SPG is a piece of art, I love them, I can barlet wait to get the '89.
I sit around at work all day just waiting to get home and cruise around in my '85 (I drive my '87 900 to work).
I am 19 years old and my first car was a SAAB. If I can help it, they will be my only car.
