It is impossible for me to state a dollar figure in relation to my retrofitting a turbo to my '86 S. This is because I did all of the work myself and the vast majority of the parts were used. I believe you or any of the other people on this board could turbocharge an NA car for less money than the alternative mods (changing pistons, ignition systems, etc). And, you WILL be satisfied with the bottom end torque if you add a turbo to your '91 2.1 NA. Your 3.89:1 final drive is ideal for this project.

If you can do the work yourself, you can turbocharge your NA for the cost of a 900 turbo parts car plus some gaskets and hoses. Try to find a turbo car with solid exhaust, if possible, as you will need the entire system.
