I did a lot of research before adding a turbo to my '86. For that year, and I believe up to at least 1988, the engine harness is the same part number whether the car is a turbo or not. In fact, I have swapped a turbo LH ECU in and out with no mods. (It didn't change anything, by the way.)Any wiring discrepancies you run into should be minor (if any).

You are one of several people on this board who have expressed an interest in adding a turbo to an LH 2.4 system car (which started in 1988 on non-turbos). You are fortunate enough to have a perfect donor car (watercooled turbo)...so have at it!! If you can do the work yourself, you will only have to spend $200 or less to make it happen. I strongly recommend a new headgasket, for reliability and ease of installing the exhaust manifold and studs (recommended). Your timing chain and transmission must also be in good order.

I don't know the limits on this project (boost-wise). I am happy when my car is running between 8 and 10 psi. Except for being front wheel drive, it feels more like a 5.0 Mustang than a Saab 900 turbo. The torque, especially from a stop, is instantaneous. Is your '90 S a 5-speed? I know Brad's turbocharged NA 2.0 automatic is pushing 15 psi (he has water injection, and I don't think he drives it to work everyday like I do).

Anyway, get started! I want to hear how this works for others out there.
