I have a 95SET and recently switched from the original front brake pads to EBC GreanStuff pads, and new conventional rotors. The increase in braking performance is very impresssive. So perhaps performance pads will provide much of the improvement that you seek.
I cannot see the point of folks doubling the cost of new rotors by going for slots and cross drilling etc and using coventional brake pads. So the upgraded brake pads perhaps should be considered the first step.
I cannot speak to your model, but TireRack has performance rotors and pads for the NG900's.
