I have not messed with the bushings in my saab but, i have done a number on my 72 911 which i drive on the street ocassionally, time trial and auto x. One of the greatest benefits i did to the rear of the car(besides bigger torsion bars, adj sway bars, adj spring plates, adj shocks was to install mono ball bushings in the trailing arms. I can now adjust the toe, caster and camber preciselly and the adjustments will (almost) not change during hard cornering. This was the last thing i did to the car and the benfits were incredible. Before i changed them, I went to poly bushing which in my mind and others, were worse than the rubber. They wore out after 2 years, and i could not get the right amount of adjustmenrs out of them.
That's my 2 cents and I agree with you. Just because there are HARDER sometimes does not make them better.
Great post!
