I would like to know how they determine the "ideal" size for the car. Is it just because the viggen comes with 17's stock??
From what I have found with my rims on my SPG, it seems like people who state 17's are the ideal size for a 9-3 isn't true, there are WAY to many variables. Most people here seem to beleive 16's are plenty big for the C900's!
If you look at the Speedvision Cup, you will see my rims on several cars :o) & the other version of Forgeline rims in numerous other series. They aren't magnesium but aluminum :o) Also, CART, F1 & several other series do not use large rims & actually use the sidewall of the tires as part of the suspension :o)
I also have never understood why people have drum brakes with large rims but paint the drums red or something. I would think it's something you wouldn't want to show off :o)
& yes, my rim/tires is one of my last mods
If the rims are heavyer & the car doesn't have much power, it will be SLOW :o(
If a cheap rim is purchased in the larger dia it WILL be very heavy & would probably negate any benifits the larger rims have. BUT if a light rim is purchased I don't see why a 18+ in dia rim wouldn't work great on a 9-3.
