turbo elbow and wastegate gaskets?

The car: 82C900T. A year ago I disassembled many of the engine components for clean-up and restoration. Included was removal of the turbo elbow and wastegate for general inspection and cleaning. Ever since then I've noticed a slight exhaust leak along those mating surfaces during a cold start. I don't notice it once the engine heats up to operating temps, but I'll guess a slight leak remains. For clean-up on those mating surfaces a year ago I used a fine flat wide file. Even though I was careful to file evenly across the entire surface and not file too much, perhaps the filing created seam gaps and thus the minor leak. The bolts along the elbow and wastegate are as tight as allowable. My question is: can a gasket be fit inbetween those mating surfaces? Perhaps even a custom made one? Of what material? Would a properly cut and trimmed thin copper sheet be effective? Anyone ever do this?
