I did go from the HBC to the TurboXS-HP. I was the first with the MBC's and was dealing with the cold weather pressure overshoots. I found that the TurboXS was very difficult to adjust and that it really did not solve the problem. HOWEVER, I had been driving the HBC and the TurboXS unit from the throttle body. That imposes a time delay that makes the pressure control very difficult with cold air and a hot manifold and turbo. It was fantastic during the spring and summer.
So I changed to get pressure from the turbo compressor housing hose barb and that was better, but still had the issues that everyone else has with that setup. A year ago at George's Imports invitational free dyno day I had just changed the setup to get pressure from my NG900 stock IC's integral return tube. That helped a lot. It greatly reduced the boost droop at high CFMs' that you get running on a dyno up to rpm red line fuel cuts. But it is a decent configuration as I don't get into the boost droop on the street. So this is a big improvement over the basic install configuations.
I am still working on a pop off valve to clip the overshoots and hope that that will let me get back to a throttle body pressure source. But it is taking a time as it is a free time project and winter work is winter work.
Is the wastegate adjusted properly. Could it be putting the BPC valve into an unusual duty cycle.
I cannot see why your BPC valve would be getting trashed.
