That's true in principle. But if you look at the fins of the grille that I have in there its obvious that it will do its best to suck in as much of the airflow as possible. It is for certain that this kind of grille will not let the air escape out through it.
I have been planning on doing pressure measurements with the setup but at this time the only "evidence" I have is from my trip on the German autobahns: in speeds exceeding 135mph the left front are of the bonnet actually starts to vibrate slightly which is a clear sign that there's a pressure building inside.
And on the other hand, there's not much point in a ram-air setup with a turbo car. Well, of course its ok if at the same time you'll get a good flow of clean, cold air. In my opinion a ram-air setup in the frontal area of the car, with the possibility of sucking in all the debris (will block the filter) and perhaps excessive amounts of water (well, you know what it does to the engine), isn't the way to go. What can be said for sure is that this kind of inlet on the frontal area of the car would not suit our climate where the snow and slush flying on the roads are very good at covering all the holes and surfaces in the front of the car. The air filter would not like that.
