require solid lifters. 900t rally car revved to around 8000rpm with stock valves and hydraulic lifters. also has stock pistons and head as well, no problem with valve float. other n/a engine that revved to 10,000rpm did have solid lifters though... point, unless you go nuts on the rev limit, solid lifters is a marketing ploy. these guys have to sell their stuff somehow. when a retail outfit says, 'you must have this when upgrading' question the validity of the claim. try and find those who have actually been down the road. also, do not pay attention to kids on this board who have no idea but are just relaying info that they 'read' from an online store. same ones that can't seem to keep trannies in their cars... :) sorry, my back hurts tonight, criticism is high.
