Finding the sweet spot!!!! What a battle. I wish i had at this point more gauges. Air fuel mixture gauge. The reason i'm running with 4.2 bar fuel pressure, at stock value 2.8 bar at idle my check engine light was turning on. Go for a road test and under load 50% the light would go out. So i turned it up to 3.4bar at idle the light would still turn on but under less load 25% the light would turn off. I left it at that for a while and found the outside tempures affected this. When it was warmer outside the light would go out after the car warmed up. But it colder temps the light would stsy on till 25% load. So i turned it up aagain. probaly 4 to 4.2 bar. No more check engine light. Now when checking the pressure at idle and reving up the engine (still in one spot) the fuel pressure would raise to 4.2 bar, but i never checked it under load, since my gauge was southern engineered and i didn't feel safe trying it on the road. My plugs are a nice brown color so i know that i'm not leaning out under high boost, i think. My rrfr is from spg9 and i got larger fuel injectors from swedish dynamics. The size of them i'm not sure of but i do know they are not 30's they mybe 28's? The catr runs smooth and a still get great gas milage.
Now exscuse my ignorance but i don't understand what is a btm. I'm assuming that it regulates pressure and electrically controls the ignition. Or is it the same as a aid, advanced ignition diaphram. So what your saying with the presuure regulator all your doing is stabilizing, setting the pressure to one value to the aid under all types of boost conditions. Whether the car is boosting 5 or 50 psi it will always see a fixed value. Am i correct?
When it comes to these situations i think you need all the data you can get from your car so extra gauges would help. I wish i could do a dyno day to find out more about my car. Presently it is probalbly running the best it has ever ran with the new fuel injectors. You guys have helped clear some of the fog away from this issue. So thanks for your help.
