Hi kooch,

Thanks for the reply about the hydocarbon problem. i'm in the mist of
fixing that issue tomorrow over at my mechanics. i have found a dyno
here in vancouver. but it is not running till the middle of febuary, due
to the cold. 100 dollars gives you 3 runs plus tuning. Thats canadian
dollars, remember $5 american $8 calladian. HEHE just a little canuck
joke. I don't know if your intrested, but i thought you would like to
know. Anyway when i do get to dyno run what are some of the things i
should watch for? I have a Volvo mechanic buddy that i will drag along
to see if he can assist in anyway while i run the car.

The topic you brought up on the tsnbb yesterday had me thinking a little
deeper about this hydrocarbon problem and the whole lean out issue. so
Right now if i was to pull my plugs they would be showing rich. Thats
with no resistor in line to the AMM. I haven't mesured the resistance
yet, to see what the AMM is (i have a nonadjustable type) in ready
state. Now which way does the amm go when it is under demand. Does the
resistance go up or down? Now this is all theoretical. Lets say if
resistance goes up under demand then it will lean out. If resistance
goes down then it should get richer. So just by putting in either
parrallel or series varible resistor switch you could tune it either way

to fake out how much air is truly passing through the amm. By adding or
subtracting resistance to the ecu to either richen or leaner. It should
not be a problem since you have allready added 300 ohms to the circut
and the ecu responded by either thru injector duration or frequency
slowed it down. So it seems that the ECU has taken the extra 300 ohms
into account for fuel mixture. I wonder if it see's a max and min
setting such as 0 - 1000 or 1k ohms. This may be why we run lean at top
end. I think this may work, but just a thought, there may be some other

limitations that the ECU may limit this. O2 sensor or the hall effect,
fuel injector frequency. I wish i had more info on this system at this
point. Anyway sorry if i carried on. Drop me a line and tell me what you
think.

Trevor

PS i tried to email this to you a week ago but your email address can back as bad.
