i have an older group 6 rrfpr. spg 9 advertises 1.7, but best we have seen is actually closer to 1.5 or so. we saw various setups on the dyno, stock fpr, trent rrfpr and group6 rrfpr, all went lean at the end and rich at initial wot before boost ramped up.

i can't really be a hypocrite here. when i first started throwing parts at the car, i jumped at 30# and higher fpr (including the rrfpr), but after being on the dyno twice, each with multiple pulls, and after watching roughly 15 or so others (the two visits combined), i quickly realized that increasing fuel to match boost isn't a simple bolt on. the only reason stock ecu's can be mass produced is because all stock setups are close (within limited manufacture variation). if you start making changes, the stock ecu is no longer accurate. you can use larger injectors and higher pressure fpr's, but you are doing hit and miss; unless you do it on a dyno and have the ability to fine tune. the only reason those staged ecu's from tuners work is because they know your set up and what the fuel/timing needs will be. if you have a different intake, or port job, or some other modification which changes the air flow, the fueling may be off. unfortunately, the only way to do it right is expensive.
1. i think aftermarket ecu is the way to go. then down from that would be a set 'package' from a tuner that included everything that was varied from stock (turbo, ic, injectors, downpipe, etc.)so it would be set right on.
2. then a piggyback system which included maybe an additional injector and a control system for fueling and timing.
3. if none of that was available, then i would go to tampering with atempting to mix other injectors and regulators with the stock ecu.

that all said, i actually went for the injector mix first, but i also did timing control with the msd btm. after being able to acurately tune the timing i saw how important fuel and timing control is when you venture from the stock set up. now i wish i had spent the extra cash initially.

you have to decide, do i want a little minor bump in performance, or do i want power? a minor bump is within reason using the stock set (i.e. spg vs. stock turbo). but an increase in power is only safely done with full control of the parameters.

keep in mind, this is only my opinion, not gospel.
