The Saab uses banjo fittings everywhere. They are cheap and they work, which is why. Probably even easier to assemble, come to think of it. Definitely not the way to go if you're looking for performance. Which Saab probably wasn't.
As far as metric AN fittings, I think the two may be mutually exclusive - they are two totally different systems. There are several places that sell adapters, however, including Racing Beat and Mazdatrix. I suspect these would be the way to go if you're looking at fitting them on the turbo. In my case, I plan on ripping out the banjos altogether and replacing them with AN fittings... AEM has a very nice looking 1/2" bore fuel rail pre-tapped for AN, and a matching RRFPR... Neato!
